When a lawyer uploads a due diligence document or an accountant attaches a client’s financials to a project, that file should not travel to a third-party storage environment your firm has no control over. Most cloud AI tools persist uploaded documents in their own infrastructure — which creates data residency concerns, potential conflicts with client confidentiality agreements, and murky answers on security questionnaires. ParleHub’s native storage integration solves this: on the Enterprise plan, every file uploaded to a project is written directly into your own SharePoint site or Google Drive shared drive, inside your tenant, governed by your existing permissions and retention policies.
Native storage integration is available on the Enterprise plan. On Free and Team plans, files are stored in ParleHub-managed secure storage that is scoped to your organization.

How Native Storage Works

When you connect native storage, ParleHub provisions a dedicated space in your tenant — a SharePoint site collection or a Google Drive shared drive — and uses it as the backing store for all project files in your org. Uploads, deletions, and reads all pass through your tenant. ParleHub holds only a reference to the file (its location and metadata) and reads the content in transit when a project member uses a file tool in a conversation. The file itself never lives on ParleHub infrastructure. Project folders within the SharePoint site or shared drive are organized by project, and file permissions mirror project membership. If someone is removed from a project, they lose access to that project’s folder in your storage environment as well.

Connecting SharePoint

Before you begin, you need a SharePoint administrator account for your Microsoft 365 tenant.

Open storage settings

In ParleHub, go to Settings → Storage.

Choose SharePoint

Select SharePoint as your native storage provider.

Authorize ParleHub in your tenant

Click Authorize. You will be redirected to a Microsoft consent screen requesting permission for ParleHub to create and manage a SharePoint site in your tenant. A SharePoint Administrator must approve this consent. Once approved, you are redirected back to ParleHub.

Save the configuration

Click Save. ParleHub provisions a new SharePoint site in your tenant and begins routing all project file storage there immediately.

Connecting Google Drive

Before you begin, you need a Google Workspace administrator account.

Open storage settings

In ParleHub, go to Settings → Storage.

Choose Google Drive

Select Google Drive as your native storage provider.

Authorize with a Workspace admin account

Click Authorize with Google. Sign in with a Google Workspace administrator account and grant the requested permissions. ParleHub requires access to create and manage a shared drive in your organization.

Confirm provisioning

ParleHub creates a new shared drive in your organization’s Google Drive. All future project file uploads are stored there, organized by project folder.

Permissions

File permissions are derived from project membership and enforced in your storage tenant:
  • Project members can read and write files in that project’s folder within the SharePoint site or shared drive.
  • Non-members — including other members of your ParleHub org who are not in that project — cannot access that project’s folder.
  • Org Admins have access to the SharePoint site and shared drive as storage administrators, consistent with their org-wide role. This access is reflected in the audit log.
  • Removed members have their folder permissions revoked when they are removed from the project in ParleHub.
Because files live in your SharePoint or Google Drive, your existing data loss prevention (DLP) policies, retention labels, and eDiscovery tooling apply to ParleHub project files automatically — no additional configuration needed.
Disconnecting native storage does not delete your files. All files remain in your SharePoint site or Google Drive shared drive exactly as they were. ParleHub simply stops routing new uploads there until you reconnect or choose a different storage option.
